We’re excited to welcome new families to COUSD. Our completely online process makes registration smooth and efficient. Be sure to have all required documents on hand before you begin. Permits for non-Charter Oak residents are available. Contact [email protected]. for more information.

How to Enroll for the 2025–26 School Year (it is not too late to enroll)

COUSD uses an all-electronic enrollment system. Please follow these steps:

  1. Check Your Eligibility

    • Verify that you live within COUSD boundaries (see the “School Boundaries” map).

    • If you reside outside our district, apply for an interdistrict permit on our [Transfers page].

  2. Gather Required Documents

    • Review the list of required documents (including proof of residence and immunizations).

    • Scan or photograph each document for upload.

  3. Complete the Online Enrollment Form

    • Access the 2025–26 TK–12 Online Enrollment Form [here].

    • You must provide a valid email address to receive your confirmation number. (Check your spam folder if you don’t see it.)

  4. Wait for Student Services Contact

    • Submissions are processed in the order received.

  5. Enrollment Review & Confirmation
    A Student Services representative will:

    • Verify your documents and form

    • Determine grade level and school placement

    • Arrange any required testing

    • Email your enrollment confirmation, school assignment, and grade level

    • Notify the school of your child’s enrollment

  6. School Follow-Up

    • The school will contact you with next steps, class assignments, and teacher information.

    • Visit your school’s webpage for additional details.

Every student has the right to a free public education regardless of immigration status or religious beliefs. District staff will not request information about citizenship or immigration status. (Education Code 234.7)
