Emergency Communications

COUSD uses ParentSquare to deliver text messages about safety incidents, school closures, and other alerts. This is the fastest way to get emergency updates. To opt in, log in to your Aeries account, go to Communications Preferences, and enable Text Notifications. Make sure your mobile number is entered correctly in our student information system. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any text.

Your child’s school and the district office may place automated phone calls for school closures, attendance matters, or other urgent information. Please verify that your primary and alternate phone numbers in Aeries are current so that you never miss a critical call.

We use ParentSquare to send emails at both the campus and district levels. These messages include updates on safety alerts, upcoming events, and more. Since email can be delayed, please do not rely on it as your sole source of emergency communications—use it alongside text and phone alerts.

Follow COUSD on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for real-time updates on safety issues, closures, and other alerts. Social media is a great supplement, but should not be your only channel for urgent communications.
