Clubs vary from year to year. Clubs meet at lunch and are as active or inactive as their membership allows them to be. In order to form a club, a group of students must have a focus for the club, and then must find a faculty advisor who is willing to be their sponsor. Once that is done the advisor must fill out the required paperwork in the ASB Office.
Each year the Charter Oak ASB hosts Club Rush in the Quad at lunch in September. All interested clubs have a booth and conduct a member drive. At this time, interested students can ask the club representatives questions about club activities. Since club membership is open all year round, you can join a club at any time. Pay attention to the school bulletin to find out when clubs are having their lunch time meetings.
Club representatives meet on a regular basis in what is know as the United Club Council, or U.C.C. The U.C.C. help with the canned food drive, the blood drive and other campus activities. Clubs also nominate seniors for the Homecoming Court, Prom Court, and Mr. Charger.
