     Vocabulary Words Unit 3 Week 3
    Three Sisters:  A Native American planting system.  Farmers planted their fields with three plants - corn, squash, and beans together
    symbiosis:  interaction between two different organisms living in close physical association, typically to the advantage of both 
    industrialization:  the development of industries in a country or region on a wide scale
    monoculture:  the cultivation of a single crop in a given area
    hybrid:  the offspring of two plants or animals of different species or varieties such as a mule ( a hybrid of a donkey and a horse)
    integrity:  the quality of being honest and having strong moral principals; moral uprightness
    rotation:  the action of rotating around an axis or center; the action or system of rotating crops
    staple:  a main or important element of something, especially of a diet
  • Happy November!

    We are already halfway finished with this month.  Trimester 1 has concluded and report cards will go home the week of November 27th.  The honor roll assembly will be on Friday, December 1st.  A notice will be sent home to let you know if your son or daughter made honor roll and or incentive. 

    This Friday, November 17th, students who earned incentive will have Incentive Day from 8:30 - 10:30.  Students who did not have a minimum of a GPA of 3.0 and above will be in study hall.  Students have been notified if they made incentive or not.  The students who made incentive are allowed to bring games, snacks, and drinks.  No hand held electronic devices or tents. 

    Next week we will have the entire week off.  I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends.  We are unable to have a feast this year in class due to that I have to attend a conference on Thursday.

I received my Bachelors Degree from CSULA in Liberal Studies,I earned my teaching credential (CLAD certified) from Cal Poly Pomona and I have my Masters of Science Degree from Walden University in Reading Literacy.

I have been teaching for 20 years, and within those 20 years I have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th. 

My husband and I have been married for 24 years.  He is also a teacher (23 years), 6th grade in Rowland Unified.

We have two wonderful sons (Josh 23 and James 17), and a beautiful 3 year old German Shepherd named Sadie.

I love teaching and I look forward to a fulfilling year of learning and fun with your child.
