Alternative Programs
Alternative Programs
Charter Oak Unified School District is proud to offer a suite of Alternative Programs designed to meet the diverse needs of our students and their families. Through personalized learning pathways, strong home-school partnerships, and proactive support services, we help each student leverage their unique strengths and reach their highest potential. Our approach combines rigorous curriculum, targeted prevention and intervention strategies, and opportunities for personal growth in a caring, inclusive environment.
Our Alternative Programs include:
-
Arrow High School (Sunflower Learning Center)
A model continuation campus providing a supportive, hands-on learning atmosphere for students seeking a smaller school setting and flexible scheduling. -
Oak Knoll Virtual Academy (Sunflower Learning Center)
A hybrid online program that blends independent, self-paced coursework with live teacher support—ideal for students who thrive in a technology-rich environment. -
SPIRITT Teen Parent Program
In partnership with Family Counseling Services, this comprehensive program offers academic instruction, parenting education, and counseling to empower young parents and their children. -
Independent Study
A fully personalized learning option that enables students to progress at their own pace under the guidance of credentialed teachers, with tailored curriculum and regular check-ins.
Each of these programs is grounded in evidence-based instructional practices, a rigorous yet flexible curriculum, and a commitment to early intervention and prevention. We collaborate closely with families and community partners to ensure every student receives the guidance and resources they need to succeed—both inside the classroom and beyond.
